Lighting a Billion Lives –International Torchbearers Programme (LaBL - ITP )
The LaBL-International Torchbearer Programme is designed to:
- Incorporate students and young professionals in the rural energy access framework.
- Create a cadre of socially conscious youth contributing towards a better and brighter future while facilitating the progress of UN MDGs.
- Offer short term volunteering assignments around the year, for a minimum of four weeks.
- Provide an opportunity for youth to work with the LaBL team.
- Gain first-hand work experience in the field of rural energy access by undertaking a series of field assignments.
Why Volunteer?
The Programme will provide leadership training through field experience that will:
- Equip you with the skills necessary to further global sustainable development.
- Increase awareness of energy access scenario in rural areas and its impact on UN MDGs.
- Provide opportunity to work towards achieving UN MDGs which the Lighting a Billion Lives initiative is contributing to.
- Educate and encourage you to bring about positive social change and promote a cleaner and greener world.
Who Can Volunteer?
- Students enrolled for degree programmes and above.
- Affiliated student groups such as environmental clubs, community service groups, NSS wings etc.
- Young professionals with appropriate expertise.
Important Dates
Call for Applications for LaBL International Torchbearers Programme is carried out due three times a year as per the given schedule:
Summer Session (Jun – Aug): 5 April Winter Session (Nov – Jan): 5 Oct Spring Session (Mar – May): 5 Jan
