Meet LaBL Torchbearers

"What attracts me to this project is the fact that it gives me the opportunity to go out and see the Real India, meet the Real people because 80% of India resides in the villages."

Firoz Shiv,
Delhi University, Delhi
"I have always been very passionate about doing something constructive for the society. Lighting a Billion Lives gives me the opportunity to do so. It gives me the chance to work for the grass root level and the opportunity to understand the practical aspects of sustainable development issues."

Manvi Bansal,
TERI University, Delhi
"Having been to a few villages in parts of North and Central India, I've observed that there is no regular supply of electricity, thus disrupting the functioning of even the most basic tasks like cooking, to studying. If some effort from our side can help these people in easy access to a reliable source of light, then I will be more than glad to make a little difference in other people's lives."

Saksham Nijhawan,
