Delivery Model for Clean Energy Adoption for Livelihood Generation

The delivery model represents a comprehensive ecosystem designed to promote and facilitate the adoption of clean and energy-efficient technologies in rural micro-enterprises and small medium enterprises as well. This model defines specific roles for each stakeholder, ensuring systematic intervention delivery while building awareness, developing capacities, promoting inclusivity, and capturing lessons for future implementation.

Sponsor/Funding Agency: The funding agency provides crucial support in conceptualizing clean energy programs for livelihood generation. Through collaborative discussions with the implementing agency, the sponsor helps transform vision into practice through strategic grants.

TERI (Implementing Partner): As the main implementing agency and overall project management entity, TERI fulfils multiple critical functions including cluster identification, technology design and customization with manufacturers, and selection and mentoring of Energy Enterprises. TERI ensures proper implementation and monitoring of technical models across target clusters, proactively initiating necessary modifications to better serve enterprise needs.

Energy Enterprise: The EE formed the interface between TERI and the community as a local logistics partner. The EEs helped mobilise the community and supported TERI in awareness generation, which led to the selection of beneficiaries. EEs, supported by their team of local technology partners inspected sites, installed the system hardware, and regularly monitored the functioning of the system through regular follow-ups with the beneficiaries. They supported TERI in coordinating with the manufacturers to customise technologies. The teams of the EEs provided timely after-sales services as well.

Community Partners: Community partners leverage their strong rural community connections to introduce mechanization in manual processes and promote solar technology adoption. These partners work closely with Energy Enterprises to support the implementation process while providing valuable insights for the implementing agency's research and program development.

Beneficiaries: The end user of the clean energy application for livelihood enhancement. The participation of women and marginalized communities enhances the program's equity objectives. Their success with the techno-institutional model generates demand for solar solutions in rural micro-enterprises, establishing the foundation for future energy-driven productive use programs
