Powering Women Terracotta Artisans in Gorakhpur through Solar

In Gorakhpur, the solarisation of two women-led terracotta artisan clusters has enabled the smooth functioning of production units and supported the mechanisation of the terracotta-making process. This intervention has improved operational efficiency, accelerated production, and led to an increase of approximately 30 per cent in income. The initiative currently benefits 20 artisans directly and around 100 individuals indirectly. Building on this success, there are plans to establish 50 additional such centres, which are expected to benefit approximately 500 individuals directly and 2,500 indirectly.
